Stone Sculptor

The main body of my work in Portland stone is figurative, often abstract and focusing on life and spirituality. My life as a sculptor began in 2009 when I took part in a series of stone carving courses with Maria Moorhouse.

I can’t imagine now a life without being able to carve stone. The ancient natural material inspires and drives me to discover its possibilities. This form of expressive creativity is rhythmic and meditative, and I find observing the process it is full of life lessons.

My figurative work aims to evoke peace and contemplation. I am inspired by natural forms for shells, sea life and my new abstract landscape series.

I have exhibited throughout the South of England, and much of my work is now made to commission. I find this exciting way of collaborating has led me to develop new untried areas of my art.
